Project Goal
Create a cute but stylized art toy prototype blending traditional folklore with modern aesthetics. The client wanted a character that could work as a blind box or small vinyl run.
01. Concept
The concept revolves around a rabbit holding a celestial mortar. Soft, rounded shapes were chosen to give a soothing, tactile feel. Sketching explored multiple poses and accessory details to balance character appeal with production simplicity.
02. 3D Sculpt
Sculpted with a focus on smooth, minimalist surfaces. The challenge was keeping the face expressive while minimizing complex geometry to fit the blind box toy style. We kept detail where it mattered most: face and key props.
03. Prototype & Production Notes
Sanded to a mirror finish before applying a matte pastel colorway. The piece serves as a master prototype for potential vinyl production. This case study shows how Popinker supports indie designers through the full art toy development pipeline.
